Guadeloupe’s airport and its nearby phone shops are separate stops. Before landing at Pointe-à-Pitre, decide whether your existing plan covers the island or whether you need mobile data ready for the drive to your accommodation.

Do not make a terminal SIM purchase your only arrival plan: PTP’s official shop directory does not advertise a dedicated SIM counter. Use included roaming or prepare an eSIM before departure if you need data immediately; consider the nearby Milénis shops when you need a physical SIM and can visit during opening hours.
Pointe-à-Pitre Airport, also known as Guadeloupe Maryse Condé Airport, serves the Les Abymes–Pointe-à-Pitre area. The useful distinction is between getting online before leaving the terminal and visiting a phone shop after leaving airport grounds.
| Option | Where you arrange it | Cost basis | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Physical SIM inside the terminal | Ask at airport information; no dedicated seller is advertised in the official directory | Current airport price not reliably published | An enquiry on arrival, with another connection option ready |
| Orange or Digicel at Milénis | Shopping centre outside the airport | Store quote for an eligible starter SIM and package, plus your transport | Visitors needing a physical SIM or local calling service |
| Existing mobile plan | Your home operator, before departure | Included allowance or the operator’s Guadeloupe roaming charge | Anyone whose current plan already covers the trip |
| Roafly eSIM | Online, installed on a compatible, unlocked phone | Selected prepaid data plan | Maps, bookings and messaging without a shop visit |
Terminal listings, nearby shops and product information checked on 5 November 2026. Shop prices and online plans are separate from any airport-counter total.
The official terminal shop directory places Carrefour Express in the public arrivals hall of Terminal 1, level 0, and Hudson News in the public departures hall of Terminal 1, level 2. Neither entry advertises SIM sales. A convenience store or travel-accessory shop should therefore remain an enquiry point, rather than the foundation of your arrival plan.
If you are still deciding between roaming, local service and a travel eSIM, our guide to how to get internet in Guadeloupe covers the wider choice.
Check your existing allowance before paying for another connection. French domestic roaming protections extend to travel between mainland France and Guadeloupe, although operators can apply permitted roaming data limits and fair-use conditions.
The practical question is how many gigabytes your particular plan provides in Guadeloupe. That allowance can differ from the headline amount available at home. ARCEP explains the framework for roaming between mainland France and overseas territories.
With a plan from another country, look up Guadeloupe explicitly in the operator’s destination list and check the charge or included allowance. Apply the same check to a travel package labelled “France” or “Europe”.
If your existing service already supplies enough data and the calls you need, keeping it is the most straightforward arrival option. Save the applicable roaming terms before flying so you can recognise any unexpected welcome-message charges.
Milénis shopping centre in Les Abymes has both Orange and Digicel–Mobiliz. These are off-airport stores: reaching them requires leaving the terminal and arranging transport.
Both store listings give regular opening hours of Monday to Saturday, 09:00–20:00, with Sunday closure. Allow time for baggage collection, the journey and registration; a flight landing shortly before closing is a poor basis for a same-evening purchase. Holiday hours can differ.
Digicel’s store locator identifies this outlet as Mobile One Mobilz, Centre commercial Milénis, Les Abymes. It is a practical place to discuss a physical SIM, but settle eligibility and the complete purchase price before making a special trip.
The Caribbean Nomad name appears on two different €10 products. Digicel’s online starter-pack listing includes 2 GB with seven-day validity, while its separate €10 Caribbean Nomad recharge provides 5 GB for seven days. The recharge requires an eligible existing line; it is not the complete cost of becoming a new customer.
Those are Digicel’s online prices checked on 5 November 2026, not an airport offer or a Milénis stock reservation. Ask which starter is available and whether any activation or retailer charge changes the total.
Orange has a separate shop in the same centre, useful for an in-person discussion about a line and its calling allowance. Ask for the complete offer available to a short-stay visitor, including the SIM and any first payment.
Keep the purchase focused on your stay length and documents. A monthly subscription, a prepaid starter and a top-up solve different needs; the lowest displayed monthly price is not necessarily the amount or commitment suitable for a holiday.
Our guide to Guadeloupe SIM cards for tourists covers the broader operator and purchase comparison.
Documents and payment
Digicel’s standard prepaid contract reserves the offer for people resident in, or able to demonstrate stable links with, its local zone. Its identification examples include valid EU identity documents and residence permits. If you are visiting with a non-EU passport, ask the shop specifically whether it can open the proposed line with your documents; a passport alone should not be treated as an automatic approval.
The current conditions are available through Digicel’s contract documents. Once eligibility is settled, request the full SIM-and-package total, accepted payment methods and any activation fee together. Before leaving the shop, test mobile data with Wi-Fi switched off and keep the receipt, recharge instructions and SIM security details.
Roafly removes the need to fit a phone-shop visit around baggage collection, closing time or Sunday arrival. Our Guadeloupe eSIM plans provide prepaid mobile data for a compatible, carrier-unlocked phone, with hotspot use drawn from the purchased allowance.
The service is data-only, so it suits navigation, accommodation messages and internet-based calls. It does not include a local telephone number or ordinary cellular calls and SMS. Keep your home line if you need its number, while managing that line’s roaming settings separately.
Install over a reliable internet connection before the trip. Follow the selected plan’s instructions for the start of validity, choosing your mobile-data line and enabling the required settings on arrival.

PTP has airport Wi-Fi, useful for an arrival message or opening a booking while you remain in the terminal. Follow current airport signage or ask staff for the network name and access instructions; keep accommodation details and directions downloaded for the onward journey.
The airport information desk is on level 0 of Terminal 1, opposite door 2. There is also a courtesy telephone beside it offering one minute of communication, a useful fallback for a brief local coordination call if your mobile connection is not ready.
Treat terminal Wi-Fi as a bridge to your next step. It does not provide mobile data for the journey to Milénis, your hotel or a holiday rental.
During shop hours: If you need a physical SIM, establish the store’s eligibility requirements and available starter before adding Milénis to your route. Include the detour and transport cost when comparing it with an online data plan.
Late evening or Sunday: Arrange roaming or an eSIM before flying, and leave physical-SIM shopping until the next opening. Download your accommodation address, pickup details and a map in advance. Our guide to arrival safety in Guadeloupe helps with the wider planning around an unfamiliar arrival.
Before packing: Keep identity documents and your phone accessible, and review Guadeloupe’s customs allowances separately from your connectivity arrangements.
PTP is easiest to navigate with the first connection already decided. Use an included home-plan allowance when it covers your needs; otherwise, prepare mobile data before departure and make a shop visit only when the physical line offers something your trip actually needs.
