At Larnaca Airport, buying a starter SIM and leaving with working mobile data can be two different tasks. Here is how to handle the arrivals shop, registration and alternatives before heading to your hotel.

Xpress Mart in the public arrivals area is the place to ask for a physical SIM at Larnaca Airport; buy once the seller has confirmed the package total and how it will be activated. If you want mobile data without a retail stop, arrange a Roafly eSIM before flying.
Start with your existing phone plan. EU/EEA plans that include roaming generally let you use your allowance in the Republic of Cyprus under roam-like-at-home rules, subject to fair-use limits. If your included allowance covers the trip, you may already have everything you need.
Otherwise, compare the cost of getting connected with the time you want to spend arranging it.
| Option | Price and allowance | Where to arrange it | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Physical SIM enquiry at Xpress Mart | Current airport price not reliably published | Public arrivals area at LCA | Buying on arrival when a suitable SIM is in stock and activation is practical |
| Epic Holiday Internet | €15 including SIM and unlimited promotional data for 15 days | Operator retail offer; not a confirmed airport quote | Heavy data use during a short stay |
| Roafly Cyprus eSIM | $12 for 10 GB, valid for 30 days | Online before departure | Data without a shop visit or local SIM registration |
| Airport Wi-Fi | Free | Inside the airport | Contacting your driver or arranging your next connection |
Prices and terms checked on 4 November 2026. Epic’s price is its standard retail offer, not an Xpress Mart quotation. Roafly’s price is in US dollars.
Try Xpress Mart in the public arrivals hall near the taxi exit, after collecting your luggage and passing customs. SIM sales at the shop were documented by Nomadic Boys in April 2025; Cestee’s airport guide dated 30 October 2026 lists the shop as open 24 hours.
Before paying, settle four practical points:
The complete price: SIM card, data bundle and any separate setup or service charge.
Activation: whether staff can help register the line, or you must complete the operator’s online process yourself.
What is included: data allowance, validity, and any local number, calls or texts you need.
Payment: which cards or cash payments the seller accepts for that purchase.
Keep the SIM packaging, receipt and PUK code. Once registration and the bundle are active, turn off Wi-Fi and open a webpage to test mobile data before leaving.
If the available card needs a store visit to complete registration, buying it at the airport adds a second stop. Heading directly to an operator shop during its opening hours can make more sense.
Local prepaid services such as Cyta soeasy and Epic Holiday Internet require identification before use. Inserting the card alone does not complete that process.
Cyta’s soeasy registration requirements accept an EU citizen’s ID card or passport; non-EU visitors use a passport. Keep the SIM and its PUK code ready too.
Online registration involves entering your details, uploading the identity document, taking a selfie and accepting the declaration. Cyta also offers registration in its shops, and the identification process itself is free. Some cases, including old laminated ID cards, require an in-person visit.
Epic’s Holiday Internet allowance starts when registration is successfully completed. With either operator, allow time for identification as well as choosing a package, particularly when a transfer is waiting.
Visit an operator shop if you want staff assistance, a local number with a suitable calling bundle, or a plan for a longer stay.
Cyta’s Larnaca Central shop is at 3–7 Makarios Arch. III Avenue. Its listed hours are 08:30–18:00 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and 08:30–14:00 on Wednesday and Saturday. The Metropolis Mall branch at 5 European Union Avenue has longer listed hours: 10:00–20:00 Monday–Saturday and 11:00–19:30 Sunday. Allow for public-holiday changes.
Epic Holiday Internet provides a useful retail benchmark: €15 includes the physical SIM and 15 days of unlimited promotional data. The promotion is scheduled through 31 December 2026, subject to the offer terms and availability. That makes local prepaid worth considering for heavy data use, even when a smaller travel eSIM is more convenient on arrival.
Compare the full airport quote with the package you would actually buy in town. Any saving has to justify the extra journey and time. Our guide to Cyprus tourist SIM cards covers the wider local-plan choices without limiting you to airport stock.
Roafly’s Cyprus eSIM plans let you arrange mobile data before departure and keep your usual SIM in your phone. Your handset must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked.
The 10 GB / 30-day plan costs $12 and lists Vodafone and Epic as supported networks, with 4G/5G where available. It is data-only, with no local phone number or bundled calls and SMS. Hotspot uses the same purchased allowance, and top-ups are available.
No ID verification is required for this Roafly plan. Its validity starts when it connects to a supported network, so you can install it over Wi-Fi before travelling and follow the activation instructions when you arrive.

This suits a trip built around maps, bookings and messaging, especially if you are travelling straight from LCA to your accommodation. Local prepaid can be more attractive when you need a large allowance or a local calling package.
If you are still comparing travel eSIM providers, our best eSIM for Cyprus guide covers the broader choice.
Larnaca Airport provides free Wi-Fi for airport visitors. Use it to contact your driver, retrieve a booking or complete an online registration step before leaving the terminal.
Save your accommodation address, transfer meeting instructions and an offline map before flying. Those details remain useful once you leave the airport’s Wi-Fi coverage.
Late-night arrivals are simpler with a preinstalled eSIM or an existing roaming allowance. If your phone takes only physical SIMs, use the terminal Wi-Fi to coordinate your transfer and arrange a local SIM during shop hours.
Xpress Mart is listed as a 24-hour shop, but current SIM stock and registration assistance need to be established at the counter. Arrange mobile data before departure if you need it immediately after leaving the terminal.
Check Northern Cyprus explicitly with the provider before purchase. This guide covers arrival at Larnaca and travel in the Republic of Cyprus; a product labelled “Cyprus” alone is insufficient to establish coverage for a trip continuing north.
Complete identification first, then check that the bundle is active and the correct SIM is selected for mobile data. Follow the operator’s APN and roaming instructions, restart the phone if requested, and test again with Wi-Fi off.
If a transfer is waiting, prepare your data before departure. Save the operator-shop visit for a trip that needs a local number, a larger bundle or help completing registration.
