Zvartnots has mobile-service counters in the arrivals area, including a Ucom point beside baggage reclaim. Before stopping to buy, decide whether you need an Armenian phone number or simply mobile data for the journey into Yerevan.

Yes, you can buy a SIM card at Yerevan Zvartnots Airport from Team, Viva and Ucom, with airport service points listed as open around the clock. Buy locally if you need an Armenian number and a substantial calls-and-data package; install a Roafly eSIM before departure if your priority is getting online without visiting a counter.
Look for the mobile operators on the arrivals level, described as the first floor in the airport directory. Ucom has two service points: one in baggage reclaim and another in the arrivals hall.
| Operator | Airport location | Listed hours | Published plan fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Team Telecom Armenia | Arrivals hall, first floor | 24 hours | Be Free airport offer: 2,500 AMD for the first 15 days |
| Viva | Arrivals hall, first floor; airport directory uses “VivaCell MTS” | 24 hours | TOURIST UNLIM national tariff: 2,500 AMD per 15 days |
| Ucom | Baggage reclaim and arrivals hall | Both 24/7 | Current airport price not reliably published |
Locations, hours and published tariffs checked on 4 November 2026 using the airport shop directory, operator service-center listings and tariff pages. Team and Viva figures are package activation fees; complete counter totals including any separate SIM or service charge are not itemized.
Team’s Be Free offer is sold specifically at its Zvartnots service center. The first 15 days cost 2,500 AMD, including unlimited data subject to the plan’s usage terms, 2,000 minutes to the listed destinations and 500 domestic SMS.
The important distinction comes after that introductory period: renewal costs 5,000 AMD for 30 days, charged when the balance is sufficient. Budget for that change if your trip runs beyond two weeks.
Team reserves the right to reduce speeds to 512 kbps after 200 GB. Its terms also restrict providing the service to other people, so this is not a straightforward substitute for a shared family hotspot.
Viva’s TOURIST UNLIM tariff costs 2,500 AMD for 15 days, with unlimited internet, 300 bundled minutes and 300 SMS. It is sold through service centers; ask the airport counter for that named plan and the complete purchase price.
The 60-day initial SIM validity shown in its terms is separate from the 15-day package allowance. Buying the tariff does not buy two months of included internet. Packages renew when sufficient credit is available, while usage outside an active package is charged separately.
TOURIST UNLIM is not intended for modems or Wi-Fi devices. If you are buying connectivity for a router, discuss a suitable tariff before paying.
Ucom’s service-center directory identifies both the baggage-reclaim counter and the arrivals-hall branch as open 24/7. The airport directory’s “sterile zone” description refers to a location within the controlled arrivals area, rather than making every Ucom purchase dependent on stopping beside the luggage belts.
Ask for the current tourist or prepaid offer at the counter. Have staff complete activation while you are there, especially if they issue a pre-activated SIM: Ucom has announced a 22 November 2026 activation deadline for specified pre-activated cards bought before that date, including airport-issued SIMs. Cards covered by the notice that remain unactivated will no longer be usable from 23 November.
Bring your passport: the airport’s mobile-service guidance requires it to establish the service agreement. Your phone must also be unlocked for another operator’s SIM.
Before handing over payment, settle these practical details:
Total price: get the package, SIM and any service charge stated together.
Payment method: ask whether the counter accepts your particular card; keep Armenian dram available as a fallback.
SIM format: establish whether the offer is available in the format your phone supports.
Expiry and renewal: note when the allowance ends and what the next package will cost.
Working mobile data: turn off Wi-Fi and open a webpage before walking away.
Ask the staff to explain any setup changes and keep the receipt, number and package confirmation. An activated line with a tested data connection is more useful than a SIM still attached to its carrier.
If you are also carrying medicines, food or cash that needs attention on arrival, review the Armenia customs rules before departure so you can deal with those requirements separately from buying a phone plan.
Waiting makes sense if you already have mobile data, have arranged your transfer, or want to discuss a longer-stay tariff without stopping during arrival. It is less appealing when you need a local number immediately.
One concrete city alternative is Ucom’s branch at 7/4 Mashtots Avenue. Its standard Level Up+ 2500 prepaid plan includes 20 GB for 30 days, with 1,000 bundled minutes and 500 domestic SMS.
Under Ucom’s prepaid purchase terms, a new SIM normally adds a 100 AMD activation fee to the 2,500 AMD package, making 2,600 AMD for those two components. That activation fee does not apply to pre-activated cards. This is a standard prepaid comparison, not a quoted airport bundle.
The longer allowance period may suit a three- or four-week stay better than a 15-day introduction. Compare national options in our guide to Armenia SIM cards for tourists, rather than assuming that leaving the airport automatically brings a lower price.
Roafly Armenia eSIM lets you arrange your mobile data before departure and keep your physical SIM in place. The Armenia plans use Vivacell, with 4G/5G where available, and their validity starts when the eSIM first connects to a supported network in Armenia.
Plans run from 1 GB to 20 GB, with seven- or 30-day validity depending on the package. They are data-only, with no Armenian phone number or included conventional calls and SMS. Hotspot uses the purchased data allowance without a separate quota, and top-ups are supported.
The choice is practical: an airport SIM serves travelers who need local calling and a large domestic allowance; Roafly suits those who want maps, messaging and bookings ready without a registration stop. Your device must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked.

Install the eSIM over a reliable internet connection before traveling. On arrival, select it for mobile data and follow the supplied roaming instructions, keeping data roaming off on your home line unless you intend to use your home operator’s roaming plan.
Our best eSIM for Armenia comparison covers the wider provider choice if you are still deciding which package to buy.
Connect to Zvartnots Public, the airport’s free Wi-Fi network, while you are inside the terminal. It can help you contact your accommodation, retrieve a booking or finish setting up your connection before continuing into Yerevan.
Save your destination address and essential booking details on your phone while connected. Once you are ready to leave, switch to mobile data and test the connection so your first navigation request does not depend on the terminal network.
If you are considering a mix of hotel Wi-Fi, a local SIM and home roaming for the rest of the trip, our guide to how to get internet in Armenia compares those options beyond the airport.
