Buying a SIM at Quito Airport takes a little planning. The confirmed shops are in Quito Airport Center, across from the terminal, while delivery to international arrivals is a separately arranged service.

You can arrange an Ecuador SIM through WIFI To Go or visit the SIM retailers at Quito Airport Center, but walk-in package availability and complete airport prices are not reliably published. Airport collection suits visitors who want a physical SIM and assistance; Roafly suits compatible-phone users who want to prepare their mobile data before departure.
Quito Airport Center is the commercial building opposite the passenger terminal. Its shops are on the public side of the airport, so arriving international passengers visiting them first complete immigration, baggage collection and customs.
Keep that shopping location separate from a delivery arranged inside international arrivals.
| Option | Location or access | Published hours | What to expect |
|---|---|---|---|
| WIFI To Go | Quito Airport Center, P3 | Daily, 24 hours | Ecuador tourist SIM offers; arrange your package and collection details |
| SIM Store | Quito Airport Center, P3 | Daily, 24 hours | International physical SIMs and eSIMs; Ecuador-specific stock needs confirmation |
| Prearranged WIFI To Go delivery | International arrivals, at the agreed meeting point | Arranged with the seller | Advance order and flight-specific collection instructions |
| Roafly eSIM | Online, before departure | No shop visit | Mobile data on an unlocked, compatible device |
Shop locations and hours checked on 22 October 2026 against Quito Airport Center’s directory. Delivery arrangements are separate from shop opening hours.
WIFI To Go sells tourist SIM packages for Ecuador, including offers using Claro, Movistar and Tuenti. Its Quito Airport Center listing places the shop on P3.
If you want your SIM delivered on arrival, the seller asks for arrangements at least 72 hours beforehand. Supply your flight details and obtain the exact meeting point, collection procedure and instructions for a delayed flight.
The practical distinction is simple: a shop advertised as open around the clock does not establish that a particular SIM will be waiting for you. Reserve the package if your arrival depends on it.
SIM Store also occupies P3 and sells physical SIMs and eSIMs for international destinations. Its presence is confirmed, but a current Ecuador-specific package and walk-in price could not be established from its public information.
Ask specifically for a SIM that works within Ecuador. International travel SIM shops also serve passengers leaving the country, so the destination covered by the package matters.
If you are still deciding between a local SIM, roaming and an eSIM, our guide to internet options in Ecuador explains the wider choices.
WIFI To Go’s online Movistar listing provides useful reference prices for a planned purchase:
| Published package | Data | Validity | Listed price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Movistar through WIFI To Go | 7 GB | 30 days | US$20 |
| Movistar through WIFI To Go | 11 GB | 30 days | US$30 |
| Movistar through WIFI To Go | 15 GB | 30 days | US$45 |
WIFI To Go online offers checked on 22 October 2026. The listing marks these offers “Quito only” and advertises local calls. These are published reseller prices; the current complete walk-in airport price is not reliably published.
Before paying, request one total covering:
The physical SIM.
The selected data package and its validity.
Registration or activation assistance.
Any collection, delivery or service charge.
Also establish when the validity starts and whether the quoted allowance is general internet data or includes separate app-specific benefits.
Paying more for an airport purchase can make sense when collection and setup save you a separate shop visit. The useful comparison is the complete purchase you need, including assistance and any extra charges.
Bring your passport and an unlocked phone with a working physical SIM slot. If your phone is eSIM-only, establish that the seller can supply a suitable eSIM before ordering.
Foreign visitors can register a Claro SIM using a passport. Claro’s passport activation instructions include visiting a customer service centre with the SIM and passport, as well as remote registration options. Its email route allows up to two hours for confirmation and requires a final activation call, so buying the card and having working data may be separate steps.
For an airport reseller purchase, establish who will complete registration and whether the line will be ready before you leave. The process for another operator or reseller package may differ from Claro’s direct procedure.
WIFI To Go advertises credit-card, PayPal and cash payment options. Agree on the payment method when arranging collection, particularly if you expect to pay at the meeting point.
Keep the packaging and receipt. Once setup is complete, switch off Wi-Fi and load a webpage to test mobile data. If calls are included, test those too.
If you are carrying several phones or other electronics, review Ecuador’s customs allowances before travelling; SIM registration and customs clearance are separate processes.
A city purchase is worth considering if you have transport arranged, can manage the first journey without mobile data, and want help choosing a local prepaid plan.
Claro has customer service centres at Quicentro Norte, on Avenida Naciones Unidas and Shyris, and El Jardín, on Avenida Amazonas and República. These provide a concrete alternative for buying and registering a SIM with your passport.
Ask for the SIM price and the prepaid package price separately, then compare their combined total with the airport reseller offer. National recharge prices alone do not describe the cost of a new, activated line.
City-store shopping is particularly useful for longer stays or when local calls matter. Our guide to buying a local SIM in Ecuador covers that decision in more detail.
Roafly removes the need to find a shop or collect a physical SIM after landing. You can purchase an Ecuador eSIM and install it before departure using a stable internet connection.
Ecuador plans provide mobile data, support hotspot use within the purchased allowance, and do not include a local phone number. That suits maps, hotel messages, bookings and internet-based communication. A local SIM may be more useful if your trip requires ordinary local calls.
Your phone must be eSIM-compatible and carrier-unlocked. Follow the installation and activation instructions supplied with your plan, select it for mobile data when needed, and keep data roaming disabled on your home line to avoid unintended roaming use.

Quito Airport confirms free Wi-Fi in its domestic and international boarding lounges. Its official Wi-Fi information does not establish equivalent coverage throughout the public arrivals area.
Save your accommodation address, transfer instructions and any SIM collection confirmation offline. If you need a connection after arrival, ask airport staff which network is available in your location.
Installing an eSIM before flying is easier than making the installation depend on finding suitable Wi-Fi after landing. Offline maps and saved booking details also remain useful while a physical SIM is being registered.
Landing late with an eSIM-compatible phone: prepare your mobile data before departure. This keeps the first journey independent of shop stock and collection arrangements.
Wanting a physical SIM at the airport: arrange WIFI To Go collection in advance and obtain the complete price, registration requirements and meeting instructions together.
Staying longer or needing local calls: consider a city customer service centre once you have reached your accommodation.
Before leaving UIO, test your connection, save your destination and make sure you can contact your driver or hotel. Review the practical safety advice for Ecuador while preparing your arrival and onward journey.
