You can buy a tourist SIM at Nadi International Airport from Vodafone Fiji or Digicel. Buying on arrival suits an unlocked phone that takes a physical SIM and a trip needing local calls or a large data allowance; installing an eSIM before departure suits travelers who want mobile internet without a shop visit.
Look for Vodafone and Digicel around the arrivals exit. Both sell tourist SIMs at Nadi, but the information available before you reach the counter differs: Digicel has published Traveler bundles, while Vodafone directs visitors to its airport outlet for current tourist offers.
| Operator | Tourist option | Data | Validity | Published bundle fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Digicel | Traveler 25 | 75 GB | 7 days | FJ$25 |
| Digicel | Traveler 50 | 180 GB | 15 days | FJ$50 |
| Digicel | Traveler 70 | 230 GB | 30 days | FJ$70 |
| Vodafone Fiji | Airport tourist SIM packages | Depends on the selected offer | Depends on the selected offer | Current airport price not reliably published |
Digicel bundle fees checked on 5 November 2026 against its tourist SIM plans. Prices are in Fijian dollars. SIM and activation charges are not separately itemized; confirm the SIM-inclusive checkout total.
Digicel's Nadi Airport store is listed as open daily from 5 am to 10 pm. Plan around those hours, especially if your flight lands late enough that baggage collection could take you past closing.
All three bundles include unlimited Digicel-to-Digicel calls and SMS, plus limited off-net minutes. Ask which international destinations your chosen bundle covers.
Ten-day holidays outlast Traveler 25, regardless of unused data. Traveler 50 covers that stay without a mid-trip recharge.
Vodafone sells tourist SIM offers through its Nadi Airport outlet and requires a valid physical passport for registration. Keep the original document accessible.
Ask which tourist package is available for your stay, including its data, expiry and calls. Vodafone also allows customers to recharge and subscribe to local data bundles through *555#, so the initial airport offer and later top-ups are separate decisions.
If you only need maps, messages and a few bookings, explain that before accepting a high-data package. If local calls are essential, make sure the allowance covers the numbers you will actually call.
Have your phone and passport ready, and keep enough battery to test the connection. Before handing over payment:
Get one complete price. Include the SIM or starter pack, chosen bundle and any activation or service charge.
Settle the payment method. Ask whether the counter accepts your card or requires Fijian-dollar cash, and whether a card surcharge applies.
Check the expiry. Know when the allowance starts and when it ends.
Test mobile data. Turn off Wi-Fi and open a webpage before leaving. If you bought the SIM for local calls, check that service too.
Keep the receipt and your original SIM somewhere secure. There is little benefit in discovering a setup problem after your transfer has left the terminal.
Before your trip, review Fiji's customs and biosecurity rules as part of your arrival preparation, particularly if you are carrying food or outdoor equipment.
Waiting makes sense when you already have a working connection, are staying in Nadi and can visit a shop without disrupting the trip. Digicel's Nadi Town store is on Main Street, with listed hours of 8 am–5 pm Monday to Friday and 8 am–2 pm Saturday; it is closed on Sunday.
Digicel tourist SIMs are also sold at other retail outlets. Its Traveler bundles require that tourist SIM; regular Prime plans are restricted on it. Compare offers you are eligible to buy, rather than assuming a cheap domestic promotion works on an airport SIM.
Our guide to Fiji SIM cards for tourists covers the wider local purchase options. If you are still deciding between a local SIM, roaming and relying on accommodation Wi-Fi, start with how to get internet in Fiji.
Buying at the airport before a resort transfer saves arranging a later shop visit. Traveling into town just to buy a SIM is only worthwhile when the offer justifies the extra journey.
Roafly's Fiji eSIM lets you arrange mobile data before departure and keep your physical SIM installed. It uses Vodafone in Fiji, with 4G where available, and works on compatible, carrier-unlocked devices.
The plans are data-only: they do not include a Fiji phone number or ordinary calls and SMS. Hotspot use comes from your purchased allowance, with no separate hotspot quota, and top-ups are available.
Install the eSIM while you have a reliable internet connection before traveling. Validity starts when it first connects to a supported network in Fiji. On arrival, select the Roafly line for mobile data and follow its data-roaming instructions; keep data roaming off on your home line if you do not intend to use that carrier's roaming service.
Roafly fits a trip where maps, messaging and bookings matter more than a local number. An airport SIM is worth considering when you want included local calls or the much larger allowances in Digicel's tourist bundles.

Nadi Airport offers two hours of free Wi-Fi in arrivals and departures. Connect to the airport network shown on terminal signage and follow the access portal; the phone instructions include viewing an advertisement before selecting free access.
The airport Wi-Fi instructions explain the connection process. Use that time to contact your driver, retrieve your accommodation details or finish an eSIM setup.
If your arrival takes you beyond Digicel's listed 10 pm closing time, preinstalled mobile data is the more practical starting point. Save your transfer instructions and accommodation address offline as well, so the first steps of the journey do not depend on connecting in the terminal.
If you arrive during shop hours and need calls or a substantial data allowance, compare the two counters before leaving. If your only immediate need is to contact a waiting driver, airport Wi-Fi can cover that task while you decide how to connect for the rest of the trip.
Does a free SIM mean free internet for the trip?
Check the included allowance and its expiry, even if the SIM itself is offered free. The plastic card, any introductory benefit and the paid package are different parts of the offer.
Will my Digicel Traveler bundle renew automatically?
No. Digicel tourist bundles do not auto-renew or roll over unused allowances. Top up and repurchase an eligible bundle when needed.
Can I keep using WhatsApp with my existing number?
Yes. You can continue using WhatsApp with your existing registered number while Roafly supplies mobile data. You do not need a Fiji phone number simply to use internet-based messaging.
