Minsk Airport’s MTS sales point has a seven-hour daily opening window. Your arrival time, need for a Belarusian phone number and ability to prepare an eSIM before departure matter more than a headline SIM price.

MTS lists an airport sales location open daily from 11:00 to 18:00. Buying there suits visitors who reach the shop during those hours and want local service; evening arrivals should arrange mobile data before flying or buy a SIM after reaching Minsk.
| Option | When it works best | Price basis | Main consideration |
|---|---|---|---|
| MTS airport sales point | Daytime arrival and a local number | Complete airport purchase total quoted at the counter | Daily opening window: 11:00–18:00 |
| MTS in central Minsk | Buying after leaving the airport | Selected local tariff and connection terms | Galileo’s shop has later evening hours |
| Roafly eSIM | Preparing data before departure | From $3.90 for 1 GB / 7 days | Unlocked, eSIM-compatible device; data only |
| Airport Wi-Fi | Brief arrival tasks while inside the terminal | Free access, subject to the session conditions | Be ready to receive an SMS login code |
Operator hours and Roafly prices checked on November 5, 2026. Current airport price not reliably published; the MTS tariff below is a separate reference.
If you are also considering home-carrier roaming or relying on hotel connections, compare the broader internet options in Belarus before choosing.
MTS’s airport and railway-station sales information identifies the airport location and its daily 11:00–18:00 schedule. Ask airport information for directions to the current sales point.
Plan around the time you can reach the shop, rather than your scheduled touchdown. Passport control, baggage collection and any delay can use up the remaining shopping window. Landing shortly before 18:00 leaves little room to complete an in-person purchase.
If you are staying in the transit area, establish whether you can reach the sales point before relying on it. The location listing does not specify access from airside.
MTS’s “#Безлимитище гостевой” guest tariff combines 30 GB at unrestricted mobile-data speed, further data at up to 1 Mbps and 700 minutes to Belarusian networks. Its standard subscription charge is 44.90 BYN, deducted in equal daily portions.
Under the current new-customer promotion, eligible customers who join by November 16, 2026 can pay 40 BYN for the first 30 days, with a minimum advance payment of 40 BYN. Request the promotion when connecting; enrollment and SIM activation must fall within its stated period.
That published tariff is useful for budgeting, but the counter should quote the complete amount payable for your purchase, including any separate SIM, setup or optional-service charge.
Hotspot use has its own rule: the first 100 MB per day is free, then the charge is 1.50 BYN per day. Sharing data with a laptop on seven chargeable days adds 10.50 BYN. That extra daily charge matters if you plan to work from a laptop throughout the trip.
Bring your original passport and an unlocked phone. MTS’s accepted identity documents include a foreign passport for visitors without a Belarusian residence permit; the document must be understandable in Russian, English, German or French.
Before paying, work through four points with the assistant:
Name the guest tariff. Confirm the allowance, any promotional eligibility and the next subscription charge.
Get the complete initial total in BYN. Separate the subscription from other charges and any credit left on the account.
Agree the payment method. Ask which cash or card options the sales point accepts before beginning registration.
Test the connection. Switch off Wi-Fi and load a webpage before leaving; test a domestic call if voice service matters to you.
Keep the receipt and account details so you can manage the line later. If you plan to carry cash for arrival purchases, review the relevant Belarus customs rules as part of your pre-flight preparation.
The MTS shop at 6 Bobruyskaya Street, Galileo shopping centre, near Minsk’s main railway station, is open daily from 10:00 to 22:00. It offers a longer purchasing window if your onward journey takes you into central Minsk.
Allow for the journey and time to register. An evening landing does not necessarily leave enough time to reach Galileo before closing.
The reason to use a city shop is access and convenience, rather than an assumed airport markup. Compare the actual total offered at each location. If you want to consider A1 or life:) as well, the separate guide to Belarus SIM cards for tourists covers the wider local buying decision.
Roafly lets you prepare mobile data before departure and avoid fitting a shop visit into your arrival. That is particularly useful when you land after the MTS sales point closes or need maps and accommodation messages before reaching the city.
The Belarus eSIM plans list life:), MTS and A1 as supported local networks. Reception depends on your location, device and local conditions. Plans are data-only: a Belarusian phone number, regular calls and SMS are not included.
Hotspot uses your purchased allowance without a separate quota, and top-ups are supported. Install the eSIM on a reliable internet connection before travelling, then follow its setup instructions for mobile data on arrival. Your device must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked.

If you are comparing providers and package sizes, the best eSIM for Belarus guide develops that decision. Choose a local SIM when a Belarusian number or substantial domestic calling is central to your trip.
AirportMinsk Wi-Fi uses phone-number verification and an SMS access code. Keep a line available to receive that message; a data-only travel eSIM cannot receive it.
Your home SIM may receive the code while its data roaming remains switched off, provided your carrier supports incoming SMS in Belarus. SMS reception and mobile-data roaming are separate settings and services.
Use terminal Wi-Fi for short tasks, but save your accommodation address, transfer details and essential contacts offline before departure. If the code does not arrive, those details still let you continue your journey without waiting for a login.
The MTS airport location’s published hours are 11:00–18:00 daily. Prepare an eSIM or a suitable home-carrier roaming option before a night arrival, then visit a city shop if you still need local service.
The guest tariff described above includes 700 minutes to Belarusian networks. International calls and outgoing SMS have separate charges, so domestic minutes should not be treated as an allowance for calling home.
Compare complete quotes for the same tariff. The available published information does not establish an airport discount or surcharge; the city shop’s clearer advantage is its later closing time.
Use an unlocked phone with a physical SIM slot and plan a local purchase during shop hours. Arrange a temporary connection through your home carrier if you need mobile data before you can buy locally.
