Prague Airport’s clearest confirmed SIM-buying option is the Visitor Centre in Terminal 1 arrivals. Your arrival time matters: the counter closes at 8 pm, while some Relay shops remain open overnight.

You can buy a Vodafone Tourist SIM at the Terminal 1 Visitor Centre, in the public arrivals area. Buying there suits visitors who want a physical SIM during opening hours; a preinstalled eSIM is more convenient if you want to leave the terminal without shopping for connectivity.
Start with your arrival terminal and the time you expect to reach the public hall—not just your flight’s landing time.
| Option | Location | Published hours | What to expect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visitor Centre selling Vodafone Tourist SIM | Terminal 1, public arrivals area | Daily, 08:00–20:00 | Confirmed SIM sales; ask for the complete price before paying |
| Relay with parcel services | Terminal 1, public area | 24 hours | A place to ask about available prepaid SIM stock |
| Relay | Terminal 2, public area | 24 hours | A retail fallback; current SIM selection is not published |
| Roafly eSIM | Buy online and install on a compatible phone | No shop visit required | Mobile data without replacing a physical SIM |
Locations and hours checked on 22 October 2026 against Prague Airport’s Visitor Centre and Relay listings. Current airport price not reliably published; Relay’s listed hours do not establish SIM availability.
Head into the public arrivals hall after completing the applicable arrival formalities. The Visitor Centre sells Vodafone Tourist SIM Cards alongside visitor services and transport tickets.
Prague Airport also has a Visitor Centre in Terminal 2, but its SIM-sales listing specifically identifies Terminal 1. If you land in Terminal 2 and want this purchase option, ask airport information for directions before heading to another counter.
Prepare for any declarations before travelling by reviewing the Czech Republic customs rules.
Relay is a convenience retailer rather than a dedicated mobile-service shop. Its public-area branches are useful places to ask about physical prepaid SIMs, particularly outside the Visitor Centre’s hours.
However, individual shops have different schedules. Terminal 1’s parcel-services branch and one Terminal 2 public-area branch are listed as nonstop; other Relay outlets close earlier. SIM stock, available operators and setup assistance should be established at the shop.
If you need someone to install the card and troubleshoot your connection, a staffed operator store in Prague may suit you better than a convenience-store purchase.
The airport does not publish a reliable complete selling price for the Visitor Centre’s SIM offer. Vodafone’s current package prices provide a useful benchmark, but they should not be presented as a confirmed airport checkout total.
| Vodafone package | Published card price | Included data | Important distinction |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tourist SIM Card | 349 CZK recommended price | Unlimited data for one week in the Czech Republic | EU roaming data is capped at 16 GB |
| Data SIM for Visitors | 499 CZK recommended price | 20 GB in the first month | Includes a one-time 10 GB bonus; the recurring base allowance is 10 GB |
Vodafone prices and package terms checked on 22 October 2026. Both cards include 100 CZK of extra credit, valid for 45 days. These are operator benchmarks, not verified airport totals; availability of Data SIM for Visitors at the airport is unconfirmed.
The distinction matters for trip length. One week of unlimited domestic data can suit a short, data-heavy visit, while the monthly package offers a longer initial period with a fixed allowance.
The monthly package’s first-month bonus does not repeat. After the initial period, its base bundle renews at the applicable price if enough credit is available.
Before paying at the airport, ask for the total including the card, included package and any service or setup charge. If the quote differs from the benchmark, establish whether you are being offered a different package or an additional service.
Your phone must be carrier-unlocked. If it has no physical SIM slot, choose an eSIM-compatible option instead of purchasing a plastic card.
Vodafone does not require identity documents when you buy a new prepaid card. Its contract-service requirements are different, so make clear that you want prepaid service without a monthly contract.
Keep the buying process simple:
Identify the exact package. Tourist SIM Card and Data SIM for Visitors have different allowances and durations.
Agree on payment before activation. Accepted cards, currencies and any setup charge are not specified in the airport’s SIM listing.
Ask about assistance. Establish whether the seller will help insert and activate the card.
Test mobile data. Switch off Wi-Fi briefly and open a webpage before leaving.
Keep the packaging. Retain the phone number, PIN/PUK details and receipt.
Buying a SIM and topping it up later are separate transactions. Vodafone’s online payment rules restrict eligible payment cards, so visitors using a non-European bank card should arrange a workable recharge method before relying on a later online top-up.
Local calls and texts also need attention: a data package does not necessarily include unlimited calling. Check the included credit and call rates if you need to phone restaurants, hotels or Czech numbers regularly.
Buying in the city makes sense when you want a wider choice of packages, help from an operator’s own staff or a plan for a longer stay. Vodafone, O2 and T-Mobile are the main names to compare.
The benefit is choice and assistance—not an automatic promise that every city SIM is cheaper. Compare the same allowance, validity and included services before deciding whether waiting saves money.
Our guide to buying a local SIM in the Czech Republic covers the broader local purchase decision without limiting you to airport stock.
Waiting also means arranging your first journey without continuous mobile data. Save your accommodation address and booking details, and load your route while you still have airport Wi-Fi. If your existing mobile plan already includes usable data in the Czech Republic, you may not need another SIM at all.
Roafly is a practical option when you need mobile data for maps, messaging and bookings and want to avoid airport shopping. Install your Czech Republic eSIM over a reliable internet connection before departure, then follow the plan’s instructions for use at your destination.
Roafly’s Czech Republic plans are data-only: they do not include a Czech phone number or conventional calls and SMS. Hotspot is supported within the purchased allowance, with no separate hotspot quota, and top-ups are available. Your phone must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked.

The choice depends on how you will use your phone. Roafly removes the need to find an open shop, obtain a physical card and swap SIMs. A local prepaid SIM may be more suitable if you need a Czech number or want a high-data local offer.

Prague Airport provides free Wi-Fi under the network name Prague Airport Free Wi-Fi. Use it to retrieve your hotel booking, load directions or arrange your connection before leaving the terminal.
Late arrivals should have a plan beyond finding an open retailer. A nonstop shop may still have limited SIM stock, and the confirmed Visitor Centre sales point closes at 20:00. Installing an eSIM before travelling removes that purchase step; otherwise, save enough information to reach your accommodation and visit a city store later.
If you are still deciding between local SIMs, travel eSIMs, roaming and Wi-Fi, our guide to internet options in the Czech Republic explains the wider trade-offs.
During Visitor Centre opening hours, Terminal 1 is the clearest confirmed airport purchase point. For a late arrival or a straightforward trip using maps and messaging, arranging mobile data before departure makes leaving Prague Airport easier.
