Flow’s 7-day Tourist SIM is a practical starting point for a week in Barbados if you want mobile data and local calls. Digicel offers visitor bundles for seven or ten days, while Roafly suits eSIM-compatible phones when you mainly need internet and want a 30-day allowance without visiting a shop.
Compare the package duration as carefully as the data allowance. Flow’s one-day and seven-day tourist plans contain the same amount of general data, but serve very different trips.
| Option | General data | Validity | Published package price | Calls and SMS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Flow Tourist 1 Day | 6 GB | 1 day | BBD 20 ≈ US$10 | Included |
| Flow Tourist 7 Day | 6 GB | 7 days | BBD 40 ≈ US$20 | Included |
| Digicel Visitor 7 Day | 8 GB | 7 days | BBD 60 ≈ US$30 | 250 minutes + 100 SMS |
| Digicel Visitor 10 Day | 12 GB | 10 days | BBD 80 ≈ US$40 | 150 minutes + 500 SMS |
| Roafly | 5 GB | 30 days | US$24.90 | Data only |
| Roafly | 10 GB | 30 days | US$39.90 | Data only |
Prices checked on 27 October 2026 using Flow’s tourist offers, Digicel’s visitor terms and Roafly’s confirmed standard prices. Offers can change. Approximate USD equivalents use BBD 2 = US$1, before payment-provider fees.
The local package price is not a verified all-in shop total. Separate physical SIM, starter or activation charges are not clearly itemized on these tourist offer pages. Ask the seller for the combined amount before paying.
Roafly’s Barbados eSIM uses the Flow network, with 4G where available. You can install it before departure, keep your physical SIM in place and use your purchased allowance for maps, messaging, bookings and hotspot sharing.
Both Roafly options above last 30 days. That gives a ten-day or two-week itinerary more flexibility than a seven-day bundle, particularly if hotel Wi-Fi handles your heavier downloads.
Roafly is a strong fit when:
Your phone is unlocked and supports eSIM.
You mainly communicate through internet-based apps.
You want to arrange your data before travelling.
You prefer a data allowance that remains valid beyond the first week.
Roafly is data-only: it does not provide a Barbados phone number, regular voice minutes or SMS. Keeping your home SIM enabled does not make its roaming calls or data free; select the travel eSIM for mobile data and review your home carrier’s charges separately.

Flow’s tourist plans are explicitly intended for inbound short-term visitors. Both add 1 GB for WhatsApp messaging to the general data allowance; that extra allocation should not be counted as unrestricted internet data.
The calling features are useful if you expect to phone accommodation, restaurants or local contacts:
Unlimited calls to Flow’s local fixed and mobile numbers.
25 off-network minutes on the one-day plan or 75 on the seven-day plan.
Unlimited local SMS.
The one-day package can suit a brief visit with substantial data use. Staying several nights makes the seven-day option more practical, even though the general data allowance is unchanged. Neither tourist plan renews automatically.
Digicel’s seven-day and ten-day visitor bundles provide more general data than Flow’s tourist options. Their included minutes cover local Digicel and Flow fixed/mobile numbers, plus calls to the USA, Canada and UK landlines. The ten-day bundle extends the validity beyond a week, but includes fewer calling minutes than the seven-day option.
Digicel also offers its Visitor SIM as an eSIM. Visitors who need calling features can therefore consider either a physical card or a digital product.
Standard prepaid offers can look cheaper than tourist bundles, but they are a separate purchasing route. Tourist SIMs do not qualify for every local promotion, and an advertised recharge price does not establish the cost or eligibility for a newly arriving visitor.
Digicel also advertises a 30-day tourist package, but its sales page and visitor terms disagree on the data allowance: 40 GB versus 30 GB. Get the allowance confirmed for the exact product being sold before choosing it for a longer stay.
City stores give you a place to buy a physical SIM and ask for help with setup. Useful verified locations include:
The Colonnade, Broad Street, Bridgetown: Digicel.
Sheraton Mall, Christ Church: both Flow and Digicel.
Sky Mall, Haggatt Hall: Digicel.
Dome Mall, Warrens: Digicel.
Use the Digicel store locator for current branch details and opening hours. Pick a shop that fits your route from the hotel; a separate taxi journey adds to the practical cost of buying locally.
Keep your phone and documents secure while moving between shops and transport. Our guide to staying safe in Barbados covers the wider precautions relevant to getting around.
Do not make an airport SIM purchase your only plan. A current official counter location, opening schedule and tourist SIM stock could not be verified, so arrange a city-store alternative or install an eSIM before departure.
Save your hotel address and transfer instructions offline before flying. Prepare for the rest of your arrival by reviewing the Barbados customs rules before packing.
Flow’s online tourist-plan purchase requires the number from a SIM you already have. Buying the data package online is therefore different from obtaining the physical card.
Digicel’s local tourist eSIM provides an online alternative to its physical Visitor SIM. Check handset compatibility before selecting a digital product, and use an internet connection to install it.
Take your passport and an unlocked phone to the shop. Digicel requires valid identification for its Visitor SIM; Flow’s tourist offer page does not specify the accepted document list, so carrying your passport is a practical preparation rather than a claim about a universal registration rule.
Complete these steps before leaving the counter:
Name the package you want. Ask for the tourist or visitor bundle, rather than just a SIM with credit.
Get the full price. Separate the package, card and any activation charge, and establish whether the quoted currency is BBD or USD.
Complete the operator’s registration. Have your identification ready and let the adviser explain any additional details needed for that purchase.
Activate the intended bundle. Confirm the data allowance and expiry shown in the welcome message or account.
Test the service. Open a webpage with Wi-Fi switched off and, if calling is part of your purchase, test a call.
Flow supports tourist-plan purchases by credit card through its top-up website, including a guest purchase route. In-person payment options should be checked with the chosen shop.
Keep the receipt and SIM packaging until setup is complete. The plan you paid for, its validity and the number assigned to the SIM are more useful troubleshooting details than simply knowing the operator’s name.
Flow’s Tourist SIM is for use in Barbados and does not include roaming. Do not assume that an operator’s presence on another island makes your domestic bundle valid there.
Roafly’s country package discussed here also covers Barbados. An island-hopping trip needs a package whose destination list covers the additional stops.
Hotel Wi-Fi may cover much of your usage while you are at your accommodation. A mobile allowance is useful when you leave for a beach, restaurant or shopping trip and need live maps or messages.
Our guide to internet options in Barbados compares the broader choices, including Wi-Fi and home-network roaming.
Flow’s seven-day tourist plan is the lower-priced local package in this comparison for a week with calls and data. Digicel is worth considering when you need a larger allowance, a ten-day bundle or a local operator eSIM with calling features.
Roafly suits visitors who want data arranged before departure and 30-day validity. Decide first whether you need regular calls and a local number, then choose an allowance and duration that cover the whole trip.
Roafly publishes this guide and sells the travel eSIM described above.
