Validity matters as much as allowance. The 5 GB bundle lasts seven days, so it will not cover the full duration of a ten-day visit even if you use very little data. The 15-day and 30-day options make more sense when their validity matches your itinerary.

PerúSIM's commercial descriptions also include local calling and SMS benefits on these bundles. If that is why you want a local line, have the staff show you the included services for the exact package being activated.

Passport Checks, Payment and Activation

Bring your passport and the phone you will use. PerúSIM's activation instructions require an in-store visit with ID, but its help page does not clearly define the complete registration process for a visitor carrying a foreign passport.

That question deserves attention before payment. In March 2026, OSIPTEL introduced temporary measures requiring stronger verification for foreign mobile customers, including biometric checks through Migraciones or validation using the applicable Foreign Ministry identity card. Its foreign-customer verification announcement explains the measures; the seller must establish which current checks apply to your documents.

Ask the staff to confirm that they can register the service in your name before you commit to a package. Tourist branding alone is not enough to establish passport-only activation.

PerúSIM accepts cards and cash in local currency. Its USD price display should not be taken as confirmation that the counter accepts US-dollar banknotes.

The comparison must include a new SIM and the initial recharge. A recharge price on its own cannot establish how much a newly arriving visitor will pay to leave with an active line.

PerúSIM also has shops in Miraflores, including Diagonal 494 and Av. José Larco 799, with published daily hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Moving the purchase to of those branches may fit your plans better, but their existence does not establish a cheaper version of the airport package.
