Roafly combines STC access with the lowest standard price among the four 10 GB, 30-day plans compared here. Its 30-day validity, top-ups and hotspot support make it a practical choice for Umrah itineraries and trips combining Saudi cities, without needing a large data allowance just to cover more days.
The first four plans below have matching data allowances and validity. Holafly provides a different option: unlimited phone data for a shorter period, subject to fair-use and hotspot conditions.
| Provider | Data allowance | Validity | Price, USD | Saudi network |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Roafly | 10 GB | 30 days | $24.90 | STC |
| Airalo | 10 GB | 30 days | $25.50 | Zain |
| Saily | 10 GB | 30 days | $26.99 | Not disclosed on its country page |
| Ubigi | 10 GB | 30 days | $27.00 | Zain |
| Holafly | Unlimited | 7 days | $28.50 | Mobily |
Prices and network details checked on 13 October 2026. Prices, offers and network arrangements can change. Fixed-data prices are shown before coupon discounts; the unlimited plan has a different allowance and duration.
The price gap between the matched plans is modest. Roafly’s appeal is the combination of the lowest price in that group, STC access and flexible data sharing, rather than a large saving on price alone.

Roafly’s Saudi plans use STC, with 4G or 5G where available. Hotspot draws from your purchased allowance without a separate tethering quota, so the same data can serve your phone and a laptop or another device.
The 10 GB plan in the table is a useful starting point for regular mobile use. Smaller and larger allowances also have 30-day validity:
3 GB for $9.90: a lighter allowance when hotel Wi-Fi handles most browsing and you mainly need mobile data for directions, bookings and messages.
5 GB for $14.90: more room for everyday use without moving up to the 10 GB package.
20 GB for $39.90: extra capacity for frequent uploads, more time away from Wi-Fi or sharing with another device.
These are total trip allowances, not daily allocations. Video streaming, cloud backups and laptop downloads can use them much faster than messaging or checking a route.
You can buy a Saudi Arabia eSIM before departure and add data through a top-up if your usage changes during the trip.

Airalo offers several validity periods, including seven- and 15-day fixed-data packages alongside the 30-day option above. Its Saudi eSIM uses Zain, and top-ups are available.
Expiry deserves attention when moving down to a smaller package: its entry-level 1 GB plan lasts three days. That can suit a brief stop, but a longer visit needs a package whose validity covers the whole stay.
Saily adds features such as ad blocking and web protection to its data service. Hotspot is allowed on the compared fixed-data plan, while the Saudi product page leaves the local network unnamed. That limits a direct operator comparison; it does not establish weaker coverage.
Purchase timing matters here. Saily’s plan activates automatically after 30 days if it has not already been used, so buying far ahead of departure can start the clock before your trip.
Existing Ubigi users can keep their installed profile and buy the appropriate Saudi data plan. The service uses Zain, supports hotspot and allows in-app top-ups even when you have run out of data and have no Wi-Fi.
Its SmartStart activation begins when you connect at the destination. An unused plan expires six months after purchase, giving more room to buy ahead than a short activation window.
Holafly’s unlimited Saudi plans use Mobily. Alongside the seven-day package in the table, the 15-day option costs $58.90.
Unlimited applies to phone data; hotspot sharing is capped at 1 GB per day. Fair-use rules also allow temporary speed reductions, without a specific GB threshold stated on the country page. The distinction matters if your main use is a laptop: unlimited phone data does not provide unlimited tethering.

The local network becomes more relevant when your itinerary extends beyond one hotel and its surrounding streets. Roafly’s STC access has a clear basis in independent coverage evidence.
In Opensignal’s February 2026 coverage results, STC scored 8.4 out of 10 for Coverage Experience, ahead of Mobily at 5.6 and Zain at 4.4. The metric assesses coverage across the places people live, work and travel. It supports choosing STC when coverage reach is a priority.
Performance has other dimensions: Mobily won the same report’s Reliability Experience award. These are national operator results, and the experience on a travel eSIM also depends on local reception, congestion, your device and roaming arrangements.
Before a drive towards AlUla or a stay outside the main cities, use the Saudi telecom regulator’s coverage maps to inspect your planned stops and road sections. National rankings are a useful starting point; location-level coverage is the more practical check for a particular route.
Start with your arrival and departure dates. Remaining data has little value if the package expires while you are still in Saudi Arabia. Ten days between Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah call for validity that extends through the return journey, even if your daily usage is light.
Then look at your phone’s recent mobile-data usage. Maps, ride bookings and messaging usually need less data than video, social-media uploads and background photo backups. Downloading maps and entertainment over Wi-Fi before leaving the hotel keeps more of your allowance available while out.
Shared use needs its own budget. Include the second device’s activity when estimating an allowance, especially if a laptop will download updates or sync files automatically. Set large backups and updates to Wi-Fi to make a fixed-data package easier to manage.
Roafly’s Saudi Arabia eSIM supplies mobile data without a local phone number, cellular calls or SMS. It can provide the internet connection for maps, online bookings and messaging, but it cannot receive a verification text addressed to a Saudi number.
If a particular booking or service requires a +966 number or local SMS, select a mobile service that explicitly includes those features. The word “eSIM” describes how the SIM is installed; it does not tell you whether the package includes a number.
During busy pilgrimage visits, keep your hotel address, meeting point and important booking references saved offline. Those details remain accessible if a crowded location slows your connection.
Roafly’s plan validity begins when it first connects to a supported network in Saudi Arabia. Installing the eSIM beforehand lets you complete setup while you still have a dependable internet connection.
Check your phone. It must support eSIM and be unlocked for use with another provider.
Install over Wi-Fi. Follow the instructions supplied with your purchase and give the line a recognizable name.
Select the travel line on arrival. Set the Saudi eSIM as your mobile-data line and enable data roaming for that line.
Review your home SIM settings. Disable data roaming on the home line and turn off automatic mobile-data switching so the phone does not fall back to it.
Test the connection. Open a map or webpage before leaving the airport’s Wi-Fi coverage.
Keeping a home SIM active may help with existing accounts and messages, but calls and other roaming services on that line remain subject to your home carrier’s charges.
Yes. Installing a travel eSIM does not require changing your WhatsApp number. Keep the existing account registered to your usual number and use the travel line for mobile data. Re-registering the account can require access to verification on the original number.
Buy a plan that explicitly includes every country you intend to visit. A Saudi-only allowance should not be treated as coverage for the UAE or Qatar. Being able to buy several destinations from one provider does not mean the same data package works across all of them.
