Muscat’s waterfront, Nizwa and Oman’s mountain roads can all feature in the same holiday. Your eSIM needs to fit the route, the length of your stay and how you share your data.

Roafly combines Omantel access with flexible hotspot use and a competitively priced 10 GB package. At $22 for 30 days, it has the lowest standard 10 GB price among the fixed-data plans compared below.
The choice between 5 GB and 10 GB matters more than chasing the lowest starting price. Hotel Wi-Fi can handle large downloads, while the mobile allowance covers the days spent driving between towns, finding accommodation and keeping bookings accessible.
The fixed-data columns below compare the same allowance and 30-day validity. Holafly’s unlimited packages appear separately within the table because their prices depend on trip length.
| Provider | 5 GB / 30 days | 10 GB / 30 days | Local network | Plan terms |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Roafly | $14.90 | $22.00 | Omantel | Hotspot across the purchased allowance; top-ups available |
| Airalo | $14.00 | $24.00 | Omantel | Rechargeable data-only plans |
| Saily | $14.99 | $24.99 | Not named on its Oman product page | Hotspot allowed within the data allowance |
| Ubigi | — | $29.00 | Omantel | Reusable eSIM profile; data sharing allowed |
| Holafly | — | — | Omantel | Unlimited: $51.50 for 7 days or $92.50 for 15 days; hotspot limited to 1 GB per day |

Roafly’s clearest price advantage is at 10 GB. The 5 GB option remains competitive, but the table does not support calling it the cheapest at every allowance.

Ten days moving between Muscat, Nizwa and the coast do not require a ten-day data package. Roafly’s 30-day validity gives you room to use your allowance throughout the trip without matching expiry to each hotel change.
The hotspot policy is useful when a passenger needs to get online or you occasionally connect a laptop. Sharing draws from the same purchased allowance, with no separate daily hotspot quota. Heavy laptop downloads still consume that allowance, so save software updates and cloud backups for Wi-Fi.
Roafly supports 4G and 5G where available on Omantel, and validity starts when the eSIM first connects to a supported network in Oman. You can install before departure, track remaining data through the website or app, and top up an active eSIM when needed.
Compare the current Oman eSIM plans before choosing your allowance. Purchases are prepaid, with no automatic renewal or ID verification requirement.

Airalo’s 5 GB package costs $0.90 less than Roafly’s, while its matching 10 GB package costs more. Both use Omantel, so the disclosed network name alone does not separate them.
Its shorter-validity options may also suit a brief visit. Keep the duration visible when selecting a package: a seven-day price is a different purchase from the 30-day plans in this table.
Saily comes close to Roafly at 5 GB and costs more at 10 GB. Hotspot use is permitted within the purchased allowance, and the plan activates on arrival when the eSIM and roaming settings are enabled.
The Oman product page does not identify the local operator. That leaves the network comparison unresolved; it is not evidence that Saily has either weaker or stronger coverage.
Ubigi’s 10 GB plan includes the same 30-day validity and Omantel access at a higher price. Its reusable profile may appeal if you already use Ubigi for other trips: additional destination plans can be purchased on that profile.
Reusing the profile does not extend an Oman allowance to another country. The destination coverage of each purchased plan still applies.
Holafly charges by the number of days and supplies unlimited phone data, with separate limits on sharing. Its Oman package allows 1 GB of hotspot data per day.
The fair-use policy also allows temporary speed reductions by the local network, without specifying a fixed daily high-speed allowance. Assess it around your actual phone use and trip length, especially if you expect to tether a laptop. Unlimited phone data and unrestricted hotspot use are different features.

Omantel is a useful foundation for an Oman itinerary that extends beyond Muscat. In Opensignal’s January 2026 Oman network report, it won both Coverage Experience and 5G Coverage Experience, based on measurements collected from October to December 2025.
Those results support paying attention to the underlying network. They do not establish the signal at a particular mountain hotel, wadi parking area or desert camp. Roafly, Airalo, Ubigi and Holafly all disclose Omantel access here, so this is a shared network strength rather than an exclusive Roafly advantage.
Build a little offline preparation into the route. Download maps before leaving reliable Wi-Fi, save accommodation locations and keep important booking details on the phone. Ask a remote property about reception at its exact location if you need to work or stay reachable there.
Network coverage and remaining data are separate constraints. Buying a larger allowance gives you more data to use wherever service is available; it cannot fill a gap in the local signal.
Start with how you use your phone away from Wi-Fi. Trip length alone can be misleading: several quiet days with hotel internet may use less mobile data than one day of video uploads and laptop tethering.
5 GB is a sensible starting point for lighter use. It suits a plan built around navigation, messaging, booking checks and occasional browsing, with larger uploads and entertainment handled over Wi-Fi. Downloading maps and playlists beforehand helps keep that allowance focused on the road.
10 GB gives more room for spontaneous use. Consider it when you expect regular social media, frequent searches between stops or occasional hotspot sharing. Roafly’s upgrade from 5 GB to 10 GB costs $7.10, doubling the allowance without shortening the 30-day validity.
Laptop use deserves its own estimate. Cloud syncing, updates and video meetings can change the calculation quickly. Review your device’s recent usage before treating either allowance as enough for remote work.
Top-ups provide flexibility if your plans change. They work best as a way to add data when needed, while keeping an eye on the remaining allowance during the trip.
Complete installation while you have a stable internet connection and time to follow the instructions. Roafly’s Oman validity begins on the first supported network connection in the destination, so installation and the start of the travel allowance are separate steps.
Confirm device compatibility. Your phone must support eSIM and be unlocked for use with another provider.
Install the eSIM before departure. Follow the supplied QR-code or manual installation instructions, and give the line a recognizable name.
Select it for mobile data on arrival. Enable data roaming on the travel eSIM as instructed.
Review your home SIM settings. Keep home-line data roaming off and review any automatic mobile-data switching setting.
Your home number can remain available on a compatible dual-SIM phone, but calls, texts and roaming on that line follow your home operator’s charges. Selecting the travel eSIM for data does not change the home contract.
No. Roafly’s Oman packages are data-only and do not include a local number, conventional calls or SMS. If an Omani number is essential for your trip, compare a local mobile plan that explicitly includes one.
Yes. Changing the SIM used for mobile data does not require registering WhatsApp with a new number.
Keeping your account is separate from voice and video calling availability. Do not treat a provider’s Omantel connection as a guarantee that every calling feature will work; verify that feature specifically if calls are essential.
Roafly’s Oman country plan covers Oman. A stop in Dubai or elsewhere in the UAE needs a separate plan or a regional product that explicitly includes both destinations.
This matters even when the UAE visit is only one part of a longer journey. Match the plan’s country list to every place where you intend to use mobile data.
